Update 1/14/03
Doris just got a new email address (doriswood@mailstation.com). Danny is determined to find a simple way to get her on-line. This new Mailstation (email appliance) just may be the thing. It's small, wireless (she can sit in the livingroom and email us), and much less complex than the laptop she was using.
So, send her a note!
Update 10/25/00
Doris is back from Tulsa and has much better vision. While there she decided to have cataract surgery on both eyes and, so, stayed an extra month and did it. The surgery went very well and she can see much more clearly now.
Here are a some pictures that Kay suggested we put on the web site so all could see. They are all 4-generation shots; the first and second starting with Muggo, Doris, Rachel, and Kay; the third is of Babar, Rachel, Kay, and Rachel II.
Update 02/28/00
Doris is in Tulsa with Rach and Fitz, again. This time she's been there a month already, and she's still not sure when she's returning. She's having a great time, as you'd expect. Last week she and Rachel went to Kansas to visit Kay, Gerald, et al. She will surely appear in Killeen again soon; her friends are getting a little antsy! Laura reported 24 messages on her answering machine, most from her friends just to see if she's returned yet. There's really no rush. Rach and Fitz are wonderful hosts, and Doris loves the visit. These days,when Babar's not playing cards or at the church, she's planning for a crowd at her house for Thanksgiving. Marilyn & Danny are co-chairing assistantship of the event with Audrey. And you know how this gang is; whoever else shows up will also be "co-chairing" the event. Hope everyone can come; please make your plans and let us know so we can include you in the "needs food" count!
Babar Visits Oklahoma; Lubbock
Well, things are pretty quiet around Killeen now. But Doris spent the summer, as always, gadding about here and there. After a month in Tulsa with Rach and Fitz where they mostly ate and drove around to see nearby grand- and great-grandchildren, she returned for a busy week in Killeen preparing for her next trip. That turned out to be a visit to Lubbock with Audrey and Mary to visit with Dot for a few days. (Danny's learning the ins and outs of the new Austin-Bergstrom International Airport!) Doris also got to visit for a short time with Donald and Shelly before their vacation to Paris -- no, turned out to be only Colorado this time!
The next order of business will to be to determine where to party during the Thanksgiving holidays. Anyone have any suggestions?
