The Marilyn & Steve Page!
Norman News!
Hello to all:
Please accept my apologies for this less-than-elegant and considerably
impersonal e-mail, but I wanted to reach as many of you as possible
with some good news.
I have accepted an offer to become the Vice President for Administration
for the University of Central Oklahoma here in Edmond. Though
I have loved my role here at the economic development office,
my heart is now clearly with higher education. I have come
to believe with all my conviction that education is the key to
Oklahoman's individual and Oklahoma's collective ability to raise
higher the roofbeams of life.
Marilyn and I want to continue to live in Edmond for many years
to come, to be close to both our parents, to enjoy our friends,
and to contribute to the greater good. This role at the U will
allow us to stay here, keep working on This Old House, keep goin'
to Ole Farts club on Thursday mornings, and all that important
stuff.
The Admin division comprises budget, finance, facilities, HR,
accounting, and a bunch of other equally exciting things. Kind
of an internal assistance for the real functions of the University
- academics and student life. I know the challenges ahead, of
which UCO is a proud owner of many, and am looking forward
to every new day.
I'll be letting you know of new contact information as I get moved
over. I start at UCO on April 23rd after a week's break after
my last day here on the 13th. However, we're still at the same
house on 4th street to which you are all always welcome.
Steve
